Fancourt

Fancourt is situated in the heart of this magnificent region – Garden Route. Water is ever-present in the Fancourt experience - whether at the Resort or the many lakes and beaches that surround us. Boating, fishing, sailing, canoeing, water skiing, swimming-beaches and surfing are all available just 20 minutes from Fancourt. The Koi people named the area around Fancourt "Outeniqua" or "land of honey". The name was a poetic description of the lush, fertile and beautiful surrounding.

Fancourt is surrounded by some of the last remaining indigenous forests, which are home to a kaleidoscope of flora and fauna. A major attraction in the Garden Route area is the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe, a historic steam train which travels between George and the town of Knysna. In Knysna, ferry rides on the lagoon are also enormously enjoyable. A combination of Olde Worlde charm and contemporary luxuries is what makes the Fancourt Hotel so distinctive.
