Network Healthcare Holdings
Many of the private hospitals used by our organisation were built or modernised within the last 5 to 10 years. They tend to be smaller and therefore less intimidating than those in the UK, some buildings supporting less than fifty beds. The comparatively low number of beds combined with a high number of medical staff lessens the hygiene risks which are becoming an increasing problem in big European establishments.
You could dream of this kind of treatment in your own country, but chances are you couldn’t afford it. In our hospitals you can have what you want, and then some.

There is a garden in her face,
Where roses and white lilies grow;
A heavn’ly paradise is that place
Wherein all pleasant fruits do flow
– Thomas Campion
With a room of your own, en-suite bathroom, attentive and plentiful staff, a daily menu, TV, radio and telephone, you might be forgiven for thinking you have come to stay in a hotel not a hospital.
Healthcare overview
Three companies run a system of private hospitals throughout South Africa which more than satisfy the standards of top clinics in Europe. Not surprisingly two of these companies have already conquered the European market. One of these is Netcare, the principle provider of medical facilities for Bodycontours. Netcare, also known as Network Healthcare Holdings, has been providing support for the overloaded National Health Service in Britain since 2002 and in 2006 acquired a controlling interest in UK private hospital group, General Healthcare Group Ltd, in a deal worth £2.2bn. Starting with four hospitals in 1996, Netcare is a financial success only because it puts patients first. For instance many of the hospitals cater for patients’ family and friends. Netcare’s on-going investment in technology and training really has put the hospitality in hospital.
Hospitals Overview
Netcare owns, manages and has interests in 71 hospitals and same day surgical units all over South Africa, from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, so you may even be able to get a room with a view. Netcare caters for 800,000 patients per year using over 2500 medical specialists.
