Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve

Immense open plains, deep ravines, spectacular waterfalls and prehistoric rock formations characterise this ecological oasis, nestled between the majestic mountains of the Cederberg and the vast plains of the Great Karoo. Only 270 Kilometres north of Cape Town, unique and unspoilt, this once hunting ground of the intrepid San, is home to an incredible variety of wildlife and plant species, and is a premier spring flower destination.

Bushmans Kloof is a privately owned wilderness reserve and is world renowned for its 130 rock art sites. In recognition of its rich cultural, historical and environmental significance, Bushmans Kloof has been declared a South African Natural Heritage site. Daily guided rock art excursions, botanical tours, game viewing and sunset game drives in open game viewing vehicles with refreshments. Bird watching, nature trails, mountain hikes, river walks, canoeing, archery, rock climbing, mountain biking, croquet and swimming in crystal clear natural rock pools. Perfect environment for painting, fly-fishing, photography, stargazing, picnics, reading and studying the history of the San and their famous rock art and lectures in the heritage centre.

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

Situated approximately 3,5 hours from Cape Town, this 54 000 hectare nature reserve in the Klein Karoo boasts an expanse of scenic valleys and mountains, 650 plant species, 160 bird species, rock art, the Big Five and a variety of wildlife. The name Sanbona is a combination of "San", after the indigenous people who first occupied the area, and "bona", which represents their vision.

The Reserve is home to two exclusive Lodges – clients would be accommodated on a FULLY INCLUSIVE basis at the elegant Tilney Manor which is an elegantly restored colonial manor house. The first lodge on the reserve, it has six suites, a communal dining and lounge area, a rim-flow pool and luxurious Spa using only Decleor products.

The open-plan suites have private verandas and overlook the surrounding bushveld.
